Two Humanoid Robots, Two Countries, One Team: Tonka and Jože at MIPRO 2026 in Opatija

Our first Croatian humanoid robot, Tonka, opened the 49th edition of MIPRO, one of Southeast Europe’s most important ICT congresses. A few hours later, she shared the panel stage with our Slovenian humanoid robot Jože, in his first public appearance alongside her, for a discussion on the future of autonomous mobility with a panel of distinguished guests.

Two humanoid robots, two countries, one team. Tonka spoke about Croatia leading the EU in real-world autonomous vehicles, while Jože added the Slovenian perspective, grounded, honest and delivered with the dry humour that has become his trademark.

Between sessions, our Vandri Robotics corner, with our branded wall as its centrepiece, became a hub for engineers, researchers, students and the simply curious. Every conversation reminded us why we do this work.

The day left us with a few clear messages:

• Croatia and Slovenia are stronger together than apart.
• Europe does not need to build the hardware to lead in AI, but needs to lead in how AI is applied, regulated and trusted.
• Humanoid robotics has crossed from someday to now.
