First Humanoid Robot Hotel Receptionist in Europe Premieres at MWC Shanghai 2026
At UNIDO's invitation, Vandri Robotics presented humanoid robot Jože — developed as a receptionist for Hotel Bled Rose in Slovenia — and premiered the pilot project video to a global audience.
INTRO
A European first, unveiled in Shanghai
Slovenian company Vandri Robotics presented the pilot project of the first humanoid robot hotel receptionist in Europe to the world for the first time at MWC Shanghai 2026, where it appeared under the auspices of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). In a keynote titled “Physical Intelligence”, Vandri Robotics director Tadej Slapnik presented humanoid robot Jože, developed in cooperation with Hotel Bled Rose for the role of hotel receptionist at Hotel Bled Rose in Bled.
The highlight of the keynote was the world premiere of the project video, publicly available for the first time at 11:00 Shanghai time (CST) on June 25, 2026 — representing the pioneering work of Vandri Robotics and Hotel Bled Rose in Europe and worldwide.
JOZE
What Jože does
Jože is powered by the Vandri Robotics cognitive voice-communication platform — his “brain” — which lets him listen, understand and respond naturally in more than 60 languages. At Hotel Bled Rose his role is designed to cover the full spectrum of a guest's stay: he welcomes and converses with arriving guests, answers questions about the hotel and the surrounding area, helps guests book their stay, escorts them to their rooms, handles check-in and check-out, and offers entertainment and special performances.
AUTONOMY
From supervised assistant to full autonomy
The system currently combines three operating modes — human supervision, automatic mode and autonomous mode — enabling careful, safe rollout in a real hotel. In the coming months, Vandri Robotics aims to shift this balance fully toward complete autonomy, developing fully independent movement and response so that Jože can eventually carry out his reception duties entirely on his own.

Joining Shanghai's autonomous-systems ecosystem
During the event, Vandri Robotics also joined the network of companies within the “Jinqiao New Communication Full-Space Unmanned Systems Ecosystem Plan”, at a ceremony hosted by the city of Shanghai that brought together 23 of the world's leading companies in autonomous-systems development, including Vandri Robotics.

Three days at MWC Shanghai
Vandri Robotics is present at the UNIDO booth throughout all three days of MWC Shanghai 2026 (June 24–26, 2026), where visitors can also see, live, the Vandri Robotics humanoid robot intended for the Chinese market.

Presenting Jože at MWC Shanghai, under the auspices of UNIDO, shows how we at Vandri Robotics are developing physical intelligence in hospitality.
